Notice of Changes regarding Cleaning on Consecutive Nights
We thank you sincerely for your continued patronage of Via Inn Kanazawa.
Starting October 1, 2024, cleaning rooms on consecutive nights will be modified to cleaning once every 3 nights.
Via Inn Hotels is committed to working with guests to reduce CO2 emissions by curbing the energy used for the cleaning and housekeeping services we provide.
If you wish, we can still provide regular cleaning services, so please feel free to inquire.
Description of Changes
・Rooms shall be cleaned once every 3 nights.
・If you wish to request fresh towels on a non-cleaning day, please display the associated card outside your door by 1:00 pm on the same day. We will leave your towels outside the door.
・If you wish have your room cleaned on a non-cleaning day, please notify reception at least one day in advance. Staff will enter and clean the room between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on the day.
If you refrain from requesting cleaning, roughly 19 L of water per room can be conserved. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
What does ethical mean?
It is an adjective referring to moral values.
It signifies “compassion for the environment or someone else” that follows one's conscience and takes the environment, people, society, etc. into consideration.
Via Inn Hotels Ethical-stay Initiatives
We, at Via Inn Hotels, are promoting the concept of “ethical-stay” as an environmentally conscious practice together with our guests.
(1) Amenities
■ We use environmentally friendly materials.
■ Rather than “everything for everyone,” our policy is “only what is required for those who need it.”
We have stopped stocking guest rooms with amenities and allow guests to take only what they need on their own in the amount required.
Thanks to the cooperation of our guests, we have been able to reduce plastic waste by roughly 6 tons per year.
■ Replacing “Disposable” with “Re-use”
We sell hairbrushes and razors for a fee in order to encourage repeated use. (¥100 each (incl. tax))
They are less durable than those sold at retail, but are wasted if disposed of after just one use.
For example, using a razor five times saves about 70 g of plastic waste compared to discarding it every time.
(2) Initiatives to conserve energy and water
■ Water-saving showerheads are installed in every bathroom.
■ LED lighting is employed throughout the building.
(3) Green card initiatives/Modified frequency of cleaning rooms on consecutive nights (Kanazawa October 1, 2024 onward)
■ We are committed to reducing CO2 emissions by curbing the energy used for the cleaning and housekeeping services we provide.
By refraining from laundering linens, roughly 19 L of water per room can be conserved.
